renewable materials like corn, potato, cellulose, soy protein, and lactic acid.
Compostable plastic are biodegradable and non-toxic for environment. They
easily decompose back into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass.

The
plastic that can be decomposed by the action of living organisms, usually
microbes into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass. They are referring to plastic
that is made from natural raw materials like maize, cane sugar, or potatoes.
Compostable plastics are made from polylactic acid(PLA). PLA is made from
dextrose, a sugar produced plants. The production of PLA resin uses in 52% less
energy than the production of petroleum-based resins.
